Naming guide for your flower shop

Flowers are a gift trade, bought in a hurry for a birthday and carefully for a wedding. A good florist name sounds like both. It needs to be warm enough to call at the last minute and polished enough to be trusted with a wedding. A flower word and a shop word do most of the work.

Be careful about naming one flower. A name built on a rose is lovely until a customer asks for tulips. Words such as bloom, posy and petal cover everything you sell. A first name, a season or a place word keep it personal and are easy to stretch to events and workshops.

Florists are often found through a map listing and a photo. A short name that is easy to type and spell will get you more of those searches. Try your shortlist on a delivery van, on a paper sleeve and on a small hanging tag before you decide.
